The Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford has established an annual lecture named after Bob in recognition of his contribution to the institution over the past three decades. The lectureship was established at the time of Bob's “re-retirement” in 2011 by gifts from former Director Iris Litt and her husband, Dale Garell, as well as other former Center Fellows. The first Robert A. Scott Lecture was delivered in March, 2012 by Professor Miles Hewstone, Fellow of New College, Oxford University, and a Fellow of the British Academy. His talk was titled, “Impact of Diversity on Intergroup Relations: The Missing Dimension of Intergroup.”
